I don't know about Overviews, but more and better organized text on your website can help establish you as an authority in an area. I am definitely not an expert in this area, but my blog gives me more and more traffic now that I'm cleaning it up and organizing it better. I think the crappy blogs are probably going to go way down in the rankings.]]> In reply to Chris Lovie-Tyler.

(Not that I’m primarily motivated by that.)

I see it as part of my creative practice, and I’m sure it helps with my growth. And like Lisa says (provided you don’t put too much pressure on yourself), it’s fun!]]> Funny you linked to that episode with Lisa Call. I periodically go back and listen that, and I’m inspired by the fact she’s still blogging, years after many others have given up.

Admittedly, it’s harder to get people to a blog now with Google’s shift to AI Overviews—especially if, like me, you’re not on social networks. 😆

As the owner of PastelBrush.com, I’ve been considering ways to update my blog to better connect with readers and showcase my art. Your emphasis on focusing on what serves your audience really struck a chord with me—it’s a reminder to align content with what people are genuinely curious about. The suggestion to revisit and refresh older posts is also something I’ll definitely prioritize. Thanks for the inspiration and practical tips!

I have been blogging on WordPress and recently updated and redesigned my blog. I also added my e-commerce artisan jewelry store to my blog and having the store right on my blog is helping me become much more consistent about blogging. Adding some plugins to help with SEO really helps too. There’s a lot to remember to do before a post goes live. I really think artists’ should have their own blog because we have a lot of interesting art things to talk about! Thanks for the great info.

You’ve reminded me why blogging regularly and consistently can be beneficial. I recall that I struggled with finding my voice, then writing, rewriting and editing my post took hours

I finally got my art blog up and running. Like you said, I wrote for myself. It’s interesting that as an experienced writer, I can usually knock out blog posts on just about anything and anyone else’s art, but writing about *my* art felt incredibly intimate and required some breathwork. Thanks for this!
