I truly appreciated how articulate Melissa was in talking about her role, the role of curators in general, as well as studio visits, how she finds artists and working with galleries., Clear, understandable and with great warmth, knowledge and empathy! Alyson you find the best people to interview! Particularly valued the discusssion re expectations around studio visits, where Melissa finds artists, the sources she references. And seeking art that causes her to stop and get goosebumps, puzzle it out, look more deeply etc. I think so much of good art is ineffable…there’s this coming together of pieces that make up so much more of a whole, a new living vibrant thing! Thank you (once again) for such a good listen!
